TABLOIDS & BROADSHEET

UK TABLOID NEWSPAPERS. (A collection of daily and Sunday UK tabloid national newspapers - known as "Red Tops" because of...)
TABLOIDS are smaller,
their stories tend to be shorter.

THEY also tend to be more
irreverent and slangy (=very colloquial)
in their writing style

In a crime story,
a broadsheet refers to a police officer,
while a tabloid calls him a cop
