Clean, Neat & TidyThere's a difference between clean, neat/tidy, organized, and keeping everything clean. For a bedroom to truly function well, all three of these qualities must be met.
- Clean: not dirty. This is when you wipe the dust off the bookshelf, vacuum the carpet, scrub the floors.
- Neat/Tidy: Looking presentable. Straightening the books on the shelf, keeping all your pencils the right way up.Sometimes, even the little things can make a big difference.
- Organized: Ah, the most misunderstood term of all. Organized means that you are/will be able to find anything in the room. You have a 'home' for all of your belongings. Now, not only can you impress yourself by looking good, you will impress others!
- Keeping everything clean: If you have different shelves that are organized well, don't put something where it doesn't go: it makes you disorganized and might mess up a clean room. If you throw your T-shirt where your tax papers are, it messes everything up.

Sweep out everything from under the bed. You'll probably be surprised to find just how much junk has accumulated there, much of which is probably stuff you had thought you had lost or may have simply forgotten about. Separate all of it into four piles: One is trash, the second is give away, the third is recycling, and the last pile is things that should stay in your room. Fold or hang your clean clothes and put them away. Throw the dirty ones in the laundry pile. Stack your books and magazines neatly, even those on the floor. Biggest on the bottom shortest on the top.
Organizing a bedroom is crucial to your mental state. You will feel more calm and relaxed in a clean, neat, orderly room.
