 nem exatamente à personificação da Natureza. Na letra de Human Nature, a frase "Why does he do me that way?" refere-se, em sua origem, a um garoto. 

A música foi inspirada por uma situação real vivida pelo compositor 

Steve Porcaro

 (da banda Toto), quando sua filha, Heather, chegou em casa chorando porque um menino a havia empurrado na escola. Para confortá-la, Porcaro explicou que o menino provavelmente gostava dela e que esse tipo de comportamento confuso era apenas a natureza humana.
